Early Transexamic Acid Decreases Severe Bleeding in Major Trauma Patients or After Childbirth

Meta-analysis of two large trials suggests that early administration of transexamic acid (TXA) decreases severe bleeding if given early after major trauma or with postpartum hemorrhage. However, the effectiveness decreases 10% for every 15-minute delay and is negligible at 3 hours.
